Church Meetings
Morning Church is at 9.30 am. It lasts for approximately one hour. All the words that we say together are printed for you in the order of service for that day. If you feel more comfortable just listening, then please don't feel obliged to say/sing anything!
We start with a song, then a kids' talk, before our children leave for their own program of activities that run parallel to our meeting.
We use PowerPoint presentations to accompany the address each week and to project the words to songs we sing. This is part of our commitment to making what we do relevant and accessible to everyone.
We celebrate Holy Communion on the second and fourth Sundays of the month (see down this page for more information about communion).
We welcome children in our church services. However, if you feel they are distracting you (or others), we offer a fully supervised program for children of all ages.
- Creche, for babies, waddlers & toddlers
- Serious Play for 2-4 year olds
- Gus's Group for 5+ years
Please feel welcome to meet those running our children's programs.
St Augustine's is fully compliant with the federal government's Working With Children Check.
Café Church is at 6.30 pm. Its style is less formal than the morning service. Relaxed, intimate, non-threatening and comfortable are how recent visitors to this meeting have described it.
We share in Holy Communion on the third Sunday each month at Café Church.
Thursday Communion is at 10am. On the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month, we offer a traditional Anglican Communion service, followed by morning tea.
At all meetings we include the following:
- Bible readings and address - we listen to God.
- Prayers - we speak to God.
(We frequently ask for prayer requests, so that we will be praying for things that are relevant and important to the congregation.) - Hymns and songs - in some we praise God directly; in others we address one another about God, and encourage one another to respond to Him.

Holy Communion is modeled on the last meal Jesus shared with his disciples (the Last Supper), which you can read about in the Bible at Luke 22:7-22.
Who may participate?
Everyone who calls Jesus their Lord and Saviour. That is, if you are trusting in Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins, Jesus is your saviour. And if you are striving to structure your life's priorities around the priorities Jesus spells out in the Bible, then Jesus is your Lord.
How do we do it?
When we share in Communion together, we look back, look forward, and we look around. We look back to remember Jesus' death for our sins and his resurrection to new life, we look forward to his coming again to take us to be with him forever, and we look around to remind ourselves that all who trust in Christ are united in him.
After a reminder is given of these things in the service, whilst you remain seated, trays of individual cups of grape juice and plates of pieces of bread are handed around the congregation. We encourage you to take this opportunity to do business with God in the quietness of your own heart.
If your trust is in Jesus, we invite you to take a piece of bread and a cup of juice and place them on the shelf in front of your seat and wait until all have been served. Then we eat and drink together recalling that Jesus death and resurrection is for us, and that we are united with each other in him.
